Sunday School 9:15-10:15
Sunday School is offered during our 9 am service. Children start in the sanctuary with their families and go to Sunday School after the Children’s Message. Sunday School ends at 10:15 am.
- Preschool (ages 3-4)
- Kindergarten-grade 2
- Grades 3-5
During the summer months, children’s Sunday School is typically offered as one combined-age class during the 9:00 am service.
From 10:15 – 11:00 am, children in grades 1-5 meet for Music Enrichment. In the fall the focus is on singing, and includes getting ready for the Christmas pageant. In the spring, the focus is on bells, culminating in a performance at the Bethany Pops Concert. The preschool and K-2 children receive music enrichment in the first 15 minutes of Sunday School.
Nursery care is available in the lower level for babies, toddlers and preschoolers from 8:00 am – 12:00 noon. Quiet activities for elementary students are also available in the lower level following Music Enrichment; these activities include origami, coloring and puzzles.

Child Check In and Registration
Bethany uses a computer Child Check In Center to help with organization, class management, health and safety, and security. Children are given nametags listing their classes for the morning. The tags also list allergies and have a security code that matches the tag given to parents. Infants and toddlers will receive an extra tag to use for labeling diaper bags. The Child Check In Center is located in the Narthex and staffed by childcare personnel who are able to answer any questions.
Bethany’s Safe Sanctuary Policy
Bethany United Methodist Church adheres to a policy of Safe Sanctuary to reduce the risk of child abuse and to maintain standards for the safety of the children and youth of our church. The policy lays out appropriate procedures for church staff and volunteers working with children and youth. To see the full policy, please click here.
Register your child(ren) online!
You may register your children online or at the church in person at any time throughout the year. We usually recommend parents complete an enrollment form for four main reasons:
- You have just recently joined our church community (welcome!)
- Prior to Summer Sunday School (June through September)
- Prior to School-year Sunday school (September through May)
- to make updates to any changes in medical/emergency information
