Praise Song

Thursday Evenings 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Warm-up for Sunday 9:00 am worship begins at 8:15 am

Our praise and worship team, Praise Song, leads our 9:00 am worship. The energy and enthusiasm of Praise Song are a huge part in helping to worship the Lord each Sunday at Bethany. This group consists of 9-12 micro-phoned singers and is accompanied by the Praise Band and lyric screens. High-energy contemporary Christian music leads our morning worship featuring music from today’s top Christian artists. Contemporary cantatas are sung at Christmas and Easter while the Praise Band is expanded to feature brass and percussion accompaniments.

Chancel Choir

Thursday Evenings 7:30 – 9:00 pm

Warm-up for the Sunday 11:00 am service begins at 10:30 am

The Chancel Choir is a thriving music ministry of Bethany Church. This 40 plus member ensemble leads the congregation in worship and provides special music for each Sunday morning service. The Chancel Choir sings at the 11:00 am Service from September through June. This traditional 4-part ensemble (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) covers a wide range of musical styles, from classical anthems to contemporary repertoire. Cantatas and major works are regularly sung at Christmas and Easter featuring instrumental accompaniments. Prior choral experience and the ability to read music are not required.

Handbell Choirs

Carillons

Angelus Bells

Angelus Bells is designed for beginners and younger students. The children learn to read notes and rhythms and the basics of handbell ringing. They play in the Sunday morning services about once every six weeks.

Youth Bells

Youth Bells is open to older students who continue to develop the handbell artistry begun in Angelus Bells. They continue to become stronger ringers and musicians and those who are able are challenged by playing more difficult music. They play in church about once a month.

Carillons

The Carillons, Bethany's premier handbell ensemble, is open to all adults and advanced youth. No experience is necessary to join the choir, just an interest in handbells and the ability to read music. Anyone who has ever played piano or percussion would be an asset to the choir. The members of the Carillons continue to perfect their handbell skills and keep up with new techniques as well as working on the basics as new ringers join the group. Carillons play in church once a month, during the Christmas and Easter seasons, and also attend area handbell events.

In addition to enhancing the worship services on Sundays, all three ensembles come together at the end of the year to present an annual Spring Pops Concert and perform lighter and more popular pieces of music.
