    Adult Fellowship Club This monthly potluck luncheon meets every fourth Friday at noon at Bethany in room 228. Lunches are followed by a speaker or presentation at about 1:00 p.m. You may come for the lunch, program or both. Bill Thurlow, 233-9001
    AGAPE, United Methodist Women This group meets for a light meal and a variety of programs chosen by women, including service projects. These gatherings are informal; we invite you to come whenever your schedule allows. Kathy Nelson, 233-1146
    Angelus Bells 2nd through 5th grade bell choir Paul Litterio, 772-0254
    Arts & Crafts Group, United Methodist Women The Arts & Crafts Group meets to do individual projects including knitting, crocheting and embroidering. They also do a service project every year. Kathy Doran
    Book Browsers, United Methodist Women All are welcome to join this group and enjoy “food for thought” and fellowship. Book reviews are presented on a voluntary basis. Held the third Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., in the church library. Helen Thayer
    Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. Clarence Olson, 233-7191.

    Fostering Families Through Fellowship This bi-monthly social group is geared to members with young families. These family-focused gatherings vary from picnics to trips to the State Fair. The group provides members with children an opportunity to share fellowship with other families outside of regular church services through activities and outings. Church office, 238-6381
    Friday Night Fellowship Dinner Group The Friday night fellowship dinner group meets monthly at area restaurants for dining and socializing. Everyone in the church family is invited. Each month a different restaurant is selected, providing opportunity to experience different kinds of foods and dining experiences. Church office, 238-6381
    Gardening Group, United Methodist Women This group plants and maintains areas on the church grounds (men are allowed to help too!) Marge Lyford, 233-5930.
    Grace Episcopal Men’s Shelter Once a month Bethany serves a Sunday evening meal and early Monday breakfast for homeless men. Bill Tishler, 233-0180.
    “I Understand” Luncheon This group meets monthly for lunch at various restaurants to share fellowship with those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Church office, 238-6381
    The Road Home of Dane County (Interfaith Hospitality Network) This is an organization that helps homeless families get back on their feet. Churches volunteer to host families for a week –providing food, activities and shelter. Bethany co-hosts a week with Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Individual volunteers can sign up to prepare or serve meals, play with kids, or sleep overnight at the church. Tracy Reams, 829-1176.
    Luke House

    Luke House is a meal program that serves meals to homeless families. Bethany does:

    • the noon meal the fourth Tuesday of every month.
    • an evening meal when there is a FIFTH Tuesday or Thursday; (if a month has both a 5th Tues and a 5th Thurs, Bethany does the Tuesday evening meal)

    Men’s Coffee, United Methodist Men Men who are available in the afternoon gather to share fellowship and conversation. They meet the second Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Dave Lyford, 233-5930

    New Members Class This class prepares those who are not members of Bethany to become a part of our membership family. Pastor Brad Mather, 238-6381

    Prayer Chain Bethany has two Prayer Chains, one which communicates by telephone and one by email.  Members of these chains have been faithful in praying for the concerns of our congregation.  If you would like to be a member of one of the Prayer Chains and receive notice of the prayer concerns, please contact one of the people listed. This is an important ministry, and it means a lot to people experiencing grief, health problems, stress, or concerns about family or friends. If you have a prayer concern, contact Pastor Brad Mather, or Nan Becknell becknell@wisc.edu
    Prime Timers A social group that meets monthly for potluck dinners and social activities. The activities vary from sing-a-longs to games to guest speakers. Members typically consist of adults whose families are grown, the recently retired and those who are beginning to dream about their retirement. Church office, 238-6381
       
    Sewing Group, United Methodist Women The sewing group’s project is making quilt coverlets for Meriter Health Center JoAn Brock, 798-4047
    Softball “The Flames” co-ed softball team plays evenings during the summer. Games run from early May through late July and are played on Friday evenings. Church office, 238-6381
    Sports teams Through the Madison schools and community recreation, (MSCR) Bethany has formed sport teams so members can gather for some non-competitive fun! Church office, 238-6381
    Susanna Circle, United Methodist Women Susanna Circle is a fellowship of women who meet for knowledge, inspiration and friendship. Ann Sowaske, 238-7903
    United Methodist Women United Methodist Women is an organization of members whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. Church office, 238-6381
    Volleyball "The Flames" volleyball team plays at indoor courts in the evenings during the fall. Games run from September though November. Church office, 238-6381

    Youth Mission Trip The youth mission trip is open for graduated 8th graders through college. They fundraise throughout the year and take a one-week trip during the summer. Becky Mather, 862-3180.
