"What a great instrument this church owns," our organist Sue Poullette says! Sue says that she has loved playing this Casavant organ ever since being a substitute organist back in the 1970's! She served as assistant organist at First United Methodist Church from 1968-1978 and was director of its Crusader Choir during that time. From 1978-1988, she served as substitute organist in many Madison churches. She was the organist at the First United Methodist Church from 1988-1992. Sue is a patroness for the music group SAI and for several years was a member of the Madison Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
A graduate of the UW-Madison (BM '69, MM '71), Sue is in her 34th year of teaching elementary music in the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, having previously taught in three other Wisconsin school districts: Oregon, West Allis, and the River Valley School District (as an intern). She enjoys reading, attending cultural events, taking care of her two great cats, walking, and enjoying the wonders of nature. These, along with teaching, practicing, performing, and having private piano students make for a full life.
