Sunday Weekly Youth Fellowship

Opportunities for Middle School & High school

Weekly meetings involve a reflection time where youth engage in games and activities that promote discussion of how religion, the Bible, and faith are relevant to each one of us personally. The second half of the meeting time is devoted to fellowship where youth simply have fun doing silly stuff, or focus on some sort of brief service project. High school students enjoy a free pizza lunch each week. Middle school youth group members indulge in a variety of snacks.

Recreational Activities

Youth enjoy a variety of fun fellowship activities throughout the year such as dinners out, bowling, ski trips, water park visits, and more.

Retreats & Lock-ins

Youth take periodic overnight trips to one of the United Methodist Camps for a weekend of outdoor fun and reflection. There are also lock-ins at the church for an entire night of activities.

Youth Worship Services

The youth serve as worship leaders during a spring and a fall worship service. They plan and present all of the elements of the service in their own unique way. Last spring’s service was a take-off of the television show, Saturday Night Live.

Service Projects

The youth participate in numerous service projects throughout the year. Some involve service to church members, some to the community, and some to meet national and global needs. Twice a year the youth participate in “Rent-A-Youth,” where they do house and yard work for church members as a service and fundraiser. The middle school youth group recently sponsored a used book sale with proceeds donated to Haiti through the United Methodist Committee on Relief, among other activities.

Youth Mission Trip

The High School Youth take an annual week-long summer mission trip to a community in need where they do home repairs, yard work and child care. They prepare and fundraise all year long in anticipation of this trip.

Fundraisers

Youth fundraisers include cookie sales, Rent-A-Youth, offering from the Youth Mission Service, and others.

Boy & Cub Scouts

Boy Scout Troop #120 and the Cub Scouts are sponsored and supported by Bethany Church.
