Confirmation

Confirmation is taught on alternating years for students who are age 7th grade or older.  Confirmation students bond together with each other and with their adult mentors throughout the 9-month program.  Participants study the history of the church, the faith journey, other faiths and religions, their individual covenant relation with the church, and a better understanding of the role they play as a disciple of Christ if they choose confirmation.

This year, we are working with confirmands from First United Methodist Church.  We will be joining them bi-monthly and focusing on Mental health, spiritual health and physical health with corresponding activities for each.

Service Projects

The youth participate in numerous service projects throughout the year:

  • Seed Collection at Pheasant Branch Conservancy
  • Food Pantry support
  • Heartland Farm Sanctuary support

  • Special Music during worship
  • Flash Choir (meets at 9 AM and shares during worship that same day)
  • Christmas Caroling
  • Meal blessings at Game Nights
  • Campfire songs at All-Church Retreat

Bethany’s Safe Sanctuary Policy

Bethany United Methodist Church adheres to a policy of safe sanctuary to reduce the risk of child abuse and to maintain standards for the safety of the children and youth of our church.  The policy lays out appropriate procedures for church staff and volunteers working with children and youth.
